Intro to CBR- A Traditional Sleep Away Camp

Hey Camp Blue Ridge friends and family!!! Check out our blog entries to learn more about Camp Blue Ridge, a traditional children’s summer camp in North Georgia. With over 50 activities to choose from, our campers and staff experience an action packed summer and make friends for life. With our multiple indoor and outdoor facilities, dining hall, two manmade lakes, and more, we make sure to get all of our kids involved in the activities they love all day long. We have a state of the art rock-climbing wall and zip line for the adventurous child! Our zip line shoots across the camp and over the waterfront lake, providing our campers with a thrilling experience. We have a fantastic aquatics program, featuring our five star water skiing program with our very own, on campus ski lake. At the ski lake, our campers can participate in skiing, wake boarding, knee boarding, tubing, and more! Our second lake at Camp Blue Ridge is the swimming lake, with a beach area, lake swing, diving tower, and of course, the BLOB!! We have a boating program, equip with canoes, kayaks, paddle boats, paddle boards, and campers who excel will get the chance to take a field trip to go White Water Rafting on the Chattahoochee River. The North Georgia weather makes this experience one our camper’s rave about. Our campers at CBR are very active, and they love going down to the ball field whether it be to play football, soccer, lacrosse, baseball, volleyball, tennis, basketball, we have it all! At Camp Blue Ridge, we focus on every individual child and their individual interests. For those children less eager to play sports, we have an incredible Drama and Arts program. This involves acting, singing, guitar, drums, arts and crafts, and more! All of these aspects in the Arts program work together throughout the summer and create an amazing performance to put on at the end of the summer for everyone to see. Our campers have performed everything from Frozen, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The Jungle Book, Wicked, and more! At Camp Blue Ridge, we pride ourselves on being an activity-oriented camp, with the huge variety for our campers to choose from and enjoy. Something that sets Camp Blue Ridge apart from those like it is how are activity schedule runs as an election style program. This means campers get to individually select which activities they want to participate in. Their selections run for a 3-day rotation period, with 6 individual activities each day to partake in. This gives our campers a chance to try all of our 50 plus activities over the summer, as we encourage them to try new things during their time with us. For those campers who are in the Teen Program, they get to enjoy two, weekly off campus field trips. These include going to the local bowling alley, skating rink, movie theater and more. On Sundays, they travel to The Coca Cola Factory in Atlanta, Georgia, The Georgia Aquarium, Stone Mountain Theme Park, Lake Lanier Water Park and more! Not to worry, all ages will get to experience an off campus field trip. Aside from the horseback riding, rafting, and hiking trips our campers have the option to sign up for, we go on an all-camp field trip to Six Flags Over Georgia theme park in Atlanta, Georgia! From the roller coasters, shops, attractions and more, Camp Blue Ridge has a blast on this trip! As you can see, there is no room for a dull moment at Camp Blue Ridge! Being family owned and operate has truly created such an amazing family atmosphere every single summer. Once you join the Camp Blue Ridge family, it is forever.
